    Billick comments on Bills Job

“As you’re going forward, it’s really about putting a partnership together,” Billick said. “I think any organization, including the Bills, that are looking for a head coach, have to decide what type of structure they want to put together before they can reach out and say, ‘We want this kind of coach or that kind of coach.’ I had a pretty good first marriage in Baltimore with Ozzie Newsome, have a firm idea of what I’m looking for in an organization. We’ll see how it pans out now as it stands with both Washington and Buffalo.”

Reading between the lines, he's saying that if it involves a meddling owner he's not interested.

Ralph has made a bad name for himself and it's coming back to bite him now.

I still think Billick will be our coach but he will not tolerate "business as usual" at OBD. Ralph either sticks to signing the checks and nothing more or we will be stuck with yet another 2nd tier wannabe.

I read it differently...he was trying hard not to say anything bad about the Bills and not show his hand. I think he's a serious candidate for the Bills job.

Absolutely, or at least painting himself to be

Hmm, this is definitely very interesting. It's the first time Billick has appeared to not rip the team or say anything that might offend someone in the administration. Maybe he realizes that he has a good chance at getting the job and wants it....

While he's not my first, or second choice..

They could do worse than Billick.. They certainly have in recent years.

Maybe Billick and Martz are trying to look like players as their phones haven't been ringing off the hook with offers from other teams.

Music to my ears. A guy who actually MAY be giddy right now at home where ever he lives about the possibility of coming to Buffalo to coach. That's the type of person we NEED.

Bill Cowher again. He's my first and second choice

                    Marty Schottenheimer is third.

Schottzy is old and a terrible retread...we'll go from four years of just sub-.500 to .500 or 9-7 for three years...big deal. The only way this happens is if the Bills exhaust the big names and want to keep it cheap and Shottzy is willing to do it for under $4 mil (Jauron was getting $3.5).

For all the education and practice each of us undergoes, the achievment of mastery is ultimately the outcome of a personal quest for understanding.

I meant guys with leverage like proven coaches. Of course coordinators want to get hired, it's their lifelong dream. Gregg Williams and Mike Mularkey thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread when they got hired..... look how that turned out.
