I know it's not necessarily Bills news, but any coach opening/closing at this point directly effects the search.

Reports are circulating that Lovie Smith will stay on in Chicago. Management wants assistant coaching changes, including letting go of QB coach Pep Hamilton.

I heard Lovie must relinquish DC roll.

That leaves door open for Fewell.

I hope he gets it. I think one day he will be a head coach in this league. It just wasn't his time yet.

My roomie is a huge Bears fan... Pretty much he's saying that whole fanbase wants Lovie gone. With poor management and player decisions, after that super bowl run, how in the world could have Lovie succeeded?
