Shanahan?
See what he gets from the Redskins, to set the bar for what he is going to want/demand as a head coach this year?

With Morris back in sure for TB, and Fox seemingly going to stay in Carolina, its likely Buffalo or CBS for Cowher.

Think topping Shanahan money could sway Cowher? More importantly, do you think when push comes to shove Wilson would pay it?

I think he's waiting and praying for another job to open. I think he won't come out and say he's not coaching because he wants to coach. If he wanted this job, he'd be here by now.

Ralph himself has said he'd pay whatever it took. So is 1 or 2 million really gonna make a difference when your being offered 10-12 anyway? Possibly part of the franchise also?

I don't think so. If the Dallas job opened up he'd jump right on it. Its a team built for Cowher already.

I would be more inclined to think that he would like to see what Fox does - but any reasonable candidate is going to wait for the market to be set by another SB-winning coach, so yeah....we will likely lose out.

I doubt Ralph goes near Washington numbers.

Yes, I have been thinking that for a while now. If he really didn't want to coach the Bills he would have made it official he's returning to CBS. I think he wants a fair contract in line with his caliber and rightfully so. We'll know soon enough. As for Ralph forking over the dough? I pray he does. To me, Cowher = Super Bowl.

Really ?

and Shanahan wants the Redskins job and we've heard that for over a week.. still hasn't happened yet.

Neogtiation is a process, and I'm sure both Bill and the Bills want this out of mainstream press until they have the i's crossed and the t's dotted

He's waiting on nothing and will be working the pregame show next year.

Honestly, if money is no object, like Ralph says, he should offer Cowher whatever the F he wants, plus some.

How much does he make at CBS? I'm willing to wager that it's a lot less than 10+ million a season.

Maybe he's waiting on Oakland?

Who the hell knows, anymore.

Maybe he's just waiting for his dog to take a crap, since he was taking him on a walk.

I actually think that with the odds at 3 to 1 according to this thread: http://www.billszone.com/fanzone/showthread.php?t=185305 that Ralph is the one stalling while he places a bet of $20 million down on Cowher and then signing him for a 5 year contract at $11 million a year!

He has a cushy job that causes zero mental or physical strain on him.

He enjoys his family. His free time. Golf.

He's not coming back to the sidelines anytime soon.

I think he's waiting on Carolina. And I think he'll be waiting it out all the way to 2011.

I wish Ralph would make a very fair, take it or leave it offer. If Cowher really wants to coach here, great.

But if he's just using the Bills for leverage, he can burn in hell.

The drama is getting really old.

I agree. Thats why I'm not high on Cowher.

Why wouldn't he just take his dog for a walk AND come to Buffalo all in one day? These people are not like me and you, they got private jets and millions of dollars.

Maybe his dog is all stopped up...he's been walking him for a few hours now.

I think at the end of the day, if Wilson offers Cowher five years and about 50-55 million he's coaching the Bills in 2010.

If he doesnt, he's not.

That's the thing. Bills will make a crazy attempt to hire him i truly believe it. The ball will be in his court and who knows if he will take it or not.

If he valued his cushy job above coaching, he would have already come out and said "I will not return to coaching."

If he doesnt, he's not.5 year, $50,000,000 Plus 1% of the franchise (= $10,000,000).

5 year, $50,000,000 Plus 1% of the franchise (= $1,000,000).

Isn't one percent of the franchise more like $10 Million?

5 years 50 million

70,000 seats'

Over 5 years or 40 home games tickets prices would need to increase $18 to cover Coach Cowher contract

anyone not willing to fork over $18 a ticket to fund this ?

Probably less then $18 a ticket if you include preseason, concessions parking, merchandise, and the inevitable playoff games
