A lot going on in that link. What are you referring to?

So...what the hell did they bring Holmgren in for?

It should be fixed. Holmgren is meeting with Tom Heckert, GM of the Eagles, to move over to the Browns to be GM. If this guy (who is a great GM) is interested in making a parallel move for money, why did the Bills go hire Buddy Nix so hastily?

Nevermind, I answered my own question :(

Holmgren has the same role in Cleveland that Parcells has in Miami...just with the option to either GM or HC himself if he so wanted.

I see they're also interested in a Packers guy. Honestly, Ted Thompson is a bit of an oddball, but that roster is FILLED with talent. Packers organization would be a good place, imo, to find a good FO guy.

Holmgren basically has the same position that Russ Brandon has. Russ and Wilson hired Buddy Nix. Holmgren is looking to hire this guy.

It seems that Holmgren got about the same setup that Parcells got with the Dolphins.

I think Nix will do a good job.

I like Nix. I have no problem with us signing Nix whatsover.

I think Nix should've taken Modrak's job, and we should've hired an outisde GM and got the best of both worlds

I know people are pretty pissed about Maybin, but the rest of the 2009 draft looks pretty darn good at this point. I'm sure it wasn't all Nix, but this was the first Bills draft that he had his hand in.

So would the Chargers organization.

Exactly. Nix took a big jump for a first time GM. He was assistant this and assistant that, and then he was a scout. Now he is a 70 year old GM. Comes from a good background, but still. Somebody like Heckert would've been top notch.

agree 100% Pat in house was not the right way to go for a complete rebuild im scared that Modrak and Guy are still employed

I'm good with Nix. He's a Texan, he knows what he's talking about.

We all said the same about Modrak almost a decade ago.

Nix is all that is football which just happens to be the complete opposite of our last GM. I'm willing to give him a chance.

We don't have a choice, it is what it is. I'm just pointing out there are top notch GMs already out there for the right price. Instead the Bills went for another old guy who was in house and a bargain. One of these days us fans will have to get lucky again.
