It seems every time the Bills promote their text alerts on Twitter and the Bills message board, an announcement is coming. They did it the day they hired Nix I believe and on numerous occasions in the past.
Maybe this time too?

It's a prime marketing opportunity. The Bills know fans are starving for news, and they exploit that

i always assumed that the vtexts were verizon only and free to verizon customers. however, it would be cost something to outside providers.
i never cared enough to find out. does anyone know that off the top of their heads?

it just says standard text messaging rates apply. so I think they are free to everyone as far as the team is concerned. but you may have a per message fee from your provider just like you would if you were receiving a message from a friend on another network.

Isn't it ironic that they have a sticky on the BB message board about how to get text alerts? It wasn't there earlier.

I love the e-mail I got advertising the alerts.
The picture of the phone in the e-mail reads 'The Bills new Head Coach is...." (or something to that effect)!!!
Awesome.
And yes, standard rates do apply. But if you have a text plan, you should be OK.
