It's about time. This was the one I figured would be done right away. Looks like Nix is using this week to interview the only two guys on his list from the 4 teams with a bye.

Grimm can't interview until the Cardinals are eliminated from the playoffs because they don't have a 1st round bye.

I'm almost willing to bet that Rivera is our next head coach.

Re: My source: Rivera will get interview Friday or Saturday

Here is the article, that I cannot publish until tonight. First look for Zoners

According to a source, the Buffalo Bills will interview San Diego defensive coordinator Ron Rivera as early as Friday. We first reported on January 2 that Rivera would be a candidate for the Bills head coaching position.

As Jay Glazer of Fox Sports reported Wednesday afternoon, the team is already in Minnesota to interview their defensive coordinator, Leslie Frazier on Thursday.

Rivera has been the Chargers’ defensive coordinator since the midpoint of the 2008 season and previously served in the same role with the Chicago Bears from 2004-06. Chicago went to the Super Bowl in ‘06 with a defense that ranked fifth in the NFL under his leadership.

Rivera, who was the first Puerto Rican to ever play in the NFL, was a linebacker with Chicago from 1984-92 and has been in coaching since 1997. He’ll turn 48 on Thursday.
As previously reported last Saturday, I’m told Nix is a strong admirer of the work Rivera’s done in San Diego and is a very realistic candidate for the job. The two have ties from when Nix worked there in scouting.

Bills fans hoping for nothing other than a big name coach like Bill Cowher, Marty Schottenheimer or Brian Billick shouldn’t automatically give up hope based on these interviews. The Bills are taking advantage of Minnesota and San Diego bye weeks to interview a pair of candidates they’re high on, but it doesn’t mean either will get hired.
Bills general manager Buddy Nix hinted strongly at his press conference last Thursday he’d look for a candidate with head coaching experience. While it’s not known how serious a candidate Frazier or Rivera are, Nix could be possibly searching for a Plan B if he can’t lure a more experienced coach of his choosing to Buffalo.

To date, Billick says he’s hasn’t been contacted by the Bills, while Schottenheimer says he remains "not likely" to coach again and Cowher speculation changes by the minute.
It was also expected Nix would hire a more offensive oriented coach. Clearly both Frazier and Rivera are defensive specialists.

But don’t think either is just a courtesy interview. The team already interviewed Perry Fewell to fulfill their Rooney Rule obligations.

At the very least, Nix is surrounding himself with options.

Out of the coordinators I like Rivera and Grimm the best.
