lthough the Buffalo Bills are currently the only NFL team without a head coach, it appears that the candidate pool for the vacancy is drying up on new GM Buddy Nix. Bill Cowher remains at the top of the Bills' coaching list, and while reports from WGRZ-TV and NFL.com's Vic Carucci indicate that the Bills are still working hard to secure Cowher's services, a Cowher hiring does not appear imminent.
While the Bills have successfully interviewed one candidate, Perry Fewell, and are set to talk to another tomorrow in Minnesota assistant head coach/defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, two other prominent names associated with the opening do not appear interested in the job. Jets offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer says he's happy in New York and has not been contacted regarding the job, though he also made it clear he'd listen to any offer that came his way. Meanwhile, Arizona assistant head coach/offensive line coach Russ Grimm is high on Buffalo's list and has been contacted regarding an interview, but to this point has not shown interest in the opening nor in interviewing with the team. That report comes via John Murphy at WIVB.com.
