I know this is not a Bill Cowher rumor. But it's definitely an interesting one. We all heard about how he was thinking of retiring. Maybe he really was serious. Anyways, here's the post...

I don't have a link, but I do have family in OP who live right around the block from him, and his house is on the market.

Definitely! But will Schobel fit in a 3-4? I'm not really sure.

"Schobel, 32, said his wife and three children will stay in his native Columbus, Texas, next season regardless of his decision."

I think if Schobel retires it would definitely quicken the change to a 3-4. We would be just as many players away from a 4-3 at that point. And, Schobel doesn't really fit the 3-4.

i wouldn't rule out schobel being capable of moving to a rushing outside backer. he has done zone blitz stuff under the coaches. he is very much like aaron kampman.

NOT THE DUDE...

Schobel is worth something but a 32 year old aging on the decline very expensive contract DE is not going to get you much in a trade IMO...

We got Stroud for a 3rd... Schobel would probably be worth the same on the market

According to RocDocs, he's the owner:

His home being for sale, doesnt mean he is gone maybe he is moving to another neighborhood, or for the last year of his career wants to just rent?

kind of a budget house of him. the kitchen is pretty basic. it's pretty obvious that he had no intention of staying if he's getting such a cheap house.

I keep saying this: There is NO rumor. Schobel is done. We can all count him out from next year. It is not the team, the money or anything. He just doesn't want to play.

I think he'd rather retire than start over somewhere.

Here's another take: Maybe we do Aaron a solid and try to trade him to a contender? Try to get a draft pick for him? I would.

how many people would want aaron schobel at his contract level for 1 to 2 years of service?

The guy was mic'd up and complaining like danny glover from lethal weapon. and that was 2 years ago. unless the bills assemble an allstar front office and coaching and put together a draft with a stud QB, Schobel is going back to Texas.

After looking at his buffalo digs, the guy certainly doesn't spend money on much.

Without getting into things too in depth, people here can vouch that where I am getting this information is VERY reliable.
