Sources: Seahawks hire USC's Carroll

Pete Carroll has reached agreement with the Seahawks (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/clubhouse?team=sea) on a deal to be their next head coach, multiple NFL sources confirmed early Saturday morning.
Carroll was fully expected to be introduced by the Seahawks as early as Monday, assuming they comply with the Rooney Rule this weekend.
The hangup could be locating a candidate to interview that would put the Seahawks in compliance with the rule, which requires teams to interview a minority candidate for head-coaching hires.
On Friday, Jim Mora became the first Seahawks coach to be let go after one season.
Vikings defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier could agree to interview, but he is unwilling to do so if Carroll has been promised full control of the Seahawks -- and multiple sources say he has.
Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke told Frazier that Carroll definitely does not have Seattle's job.
Believing Leiweke, Frazier will interview for the Seahawks head coach job Saturday morning.
Seattle also contacted the agent for Chargers defensive coordinator Ron Rivera, but as of Saturday morning nothing had been set up.
But the bottom line is, Carroll's agreement with Seattle is "100 percent done," one NFL source close to the situation said.

I agree he is going to get his ass handed to him, but not because its the NFL, but because he will be the GM and HC essentially. That's never going to work.

A bunch of those wins came from a NE team that Parcells assembled, and Carroll started to drive them back into the gutter before Belickeck got brought in to turn it back around.

Crazy deal...no one was looking to hire Carroll, with the Rooney rule, why would Seattle leak/jump at hiring him within hours of firing Mora? It may bite 'em in the azz later....

Belichick didn't do squat with the Browns.... not saying Carroll is like him... but people don't always knock one out of the ball park their first at bat.

Players are more likely to be attracted to sign with the Seahawks under Carroll... than if the Bills go an hire Frazier..

Carroll has had two (2) chances and failed with both. He sucked with the Jets and sucked with a Patriots team that was built by Parcells and was then followed up w/Belicheck success.
He is a easy-going, ethusiastic cheerleader sort of coach. College kids eat that up. Millionaire athlete men eat him alive.

he's leaving USC before it gets ugly. The basketball program took a huge hit and the football program is soon to follow. The AD has caused some serious problems within the school.
