All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

Panthers took the highly unusual step of allowing HC John Fox to void last year of contract. But no offers out there better than one he has.
via twitter.....hopefully Fox stays in Carolina....

Given our realistic chances of getting Cowher, I would take Fox as a consolation prize.
If we can't convince Cowher to come here, maybe we could talk to Fox and convince him to come here and bring his staff. Then Cowher can join the Panthers like he wants.

Yeah, but I dont want to be helping Cowher go elsewhere. I want him here. Step 1 would be to get a final answer on Cowher.
Wait a minute...nevermind! **** that! Apparently the Panthers owner is so ****ing cheap. If you want Fox to leave, just fire him dumbass! But no, he won't. So...there's no way in hell he would pay Cowher.
Fox isnt going anywhere without a nice long term deal.
But the fact the owner will allow him to void last year of the deal probably gives Cowher the motivation to have patience and wait to sit out until next year.
Horrible news, possibly the worst you could hear right now other than Cowher saying he's not coaching this year publicly, w hich may not be imminient

I thought of something very dumb, but who knows? Are the Panters trying to bait buffalo into giving up the pursuit of Cowher? Get us to bite on Fox, take him off thier hands, and in cruises Billy?
Wow, real scoop there Mort! The Panthers were obviously looking for Fox to either fulfill his contract, or void it so that they don't have to pay him for 2010. The only other option was a settlement, but the Panthers don't want to pay him say, half his salary for 2010, and then have to pay another coach for 2010 and beyond, especially if there's a lockout in 2011, like most fear.
