I havent had an issue with Vanek's Defensive play this season at all.

I would equate him with Dave Andreychuk. He got called out for being lazy and not using his size with checking, but he was really a good player and a good leader.

Thanks Dozer! I know you put that up for a different reason but I sure enjoyed reading it. Yes, the Sabres are still a top-notch club and they have done exactly what I've said. You can gripe about how much they are missing but they went through some growing pains with that squad and they got better. Management and coaching wise we probably have the absolute best staff of putting the right guys together and getting the most out of the money being spent on a roster. If they can stay healthy and Connely and Vanek play well this team is in business just as they are.
