Concern about depth at wide receiver likely will lead the Vikings back to an old hand.

Matthew Hatchette, attempting to resurrect his career in NFL Europe, is expected to re-sign with the Vikings in time for training camp, according to people with knowledge of the situation. Because Hatchette is an NFL Europe free agent, not allocated by an NFL team, he will be free to sign anywhere when the NFL Europe season ends later this month.

Hatchette, the Vikings' seventh-round draft choice in 1997, is the leading receiver in NFL Europe, having caught 59 passes for 753 yards and seven touchdowns. He also has returned a kick 101 yards for a touchdown....

The Vikings' top four receivers appear set. Randy Moss and D'Wayne Bates will start, while the team has second-year player Kelly Campbell penciled in as its No. 3 receiver and third-round pick Nate Burleson at No. 4.
