No one knows (although many seers on this board THINK they do), so Incomplete is the logical choice.

But per the Bills' criteria, I give him a solid B: Offensive background, HC at both NFL and college level, decent success at various career stops.

I voted C. I think the idea of a guy like Gailey, given his backround, is a solid B, but since his name is not one that Bills fans wanna hear at all, I had to take him down a letter grade. In the end, its not about grades, its all about W's, b/c we gotta make the playoffs, very, very soon.

B - I could see a lot worse at this point.

He's got experience as HC.
He's offensive minded.
He's coached a team to the playoffs more than one year.
He's been a part of multiple winning organizations.
He's southern which meshes well with Buddy's personality.

As I think about it, I like him more than Frazier, but this just isnt NEARLY the splash we were promised, so i give it a D.

Oh boy- where to begin........

Resume'- looks good- but one problem- why (if he's so good) can't he hold a job in the NFL for more than 2- 3 consecutive years? Lots of 1 or 2 year stints

Beggars can't be choosers I guess

D

His in game decisions are brutal and he's left his two HC jobs worse off than before he was hired.

I gave it a D. I think Mike Martz, AVP etc would get an F. However, my D indicates this hire is not a positive step but a step sideways.

Truthfully I will be better able to judge what grade after he announces his staff.

I hope you all realize this is the same thing as grading the draft the day after it happened. you have no idea what he's going to do!

I have to give it an Incomplete. The guy hasn't even set foot in Buffalo yet. I'm not happy with the hire, but I'm not going to grade him until I see some results.

Outside of Southern perhaps, you just described Brian Billick, Mike Martz, and Jim Fassel, who are all better choices and have been more successful.

Nice thought, except that since nobody wanted to come to Buffalo to be the head coach, do we really think top notch assistants are going to be lining up at the door to be the underlings to the guy that nobody wanted, in the place nobody wanted to go to?

I gave him a C. I think he can attract better assistants than a 1st time HC like Frazier would.

I figured we get a few 'A's' from fans of opposing teams like the Dolphins.
