Stars to tee it up at Lombardi

Twenty-two former and current Green Bay Packers will tee it up for cancer research Saturday in the 33rd annual Vince Lombardi Golf Classic at North Hills Country Club in Menomonee Falls.

The field for the Lombardi, one of the oldest and most successful charity golf events in the U.S., features nine Packers who played for the legendary coach: Boyd Dowler, Jim Grabowski, Bob Jeter, Gary Knafelc, Ron Kramer, Max McGee, Jim Temp, Jesse Whittenton, Willie Wood and Bart Starr, the event's honorary chairman since its inception.

Norb Hecker, a former position coach under Lombardi, and Jim Tunney, the referee at the famous Ice Bowl game in 1967, also are scheduled to play.
