ALLEN PARK -- A steady rain that forced the Lions inside for Wednesday's mini-camp practice underscored the value of the indoor facility that is part of their year-old headquarters.
The indoor facility and Ford Field both have FieldTurf playing surfaces.
"It's good to come in here," Coach Steve Mariucci said. "This is very convenient.
"Not only that, the surface is exactly what we play on. You never have to worry about trying on shoes on game day. They know what shoes to wear and how to tape."
