His 1st year he barely played, and his 2nd year he was injured. Maybin was projected to be picked anywhere from 7-20 in the draft. We got him at 11 (I really cant remember)

Everything Nix has said about evaluating talent makes it seem very likely that he had almost no say in the Maybin pick. He has repeatedly said that he does not like "one year wonders", and even today in his press conference he said that he likes guys who have succeeded at all levels (highschool, college...). Draw your own conclusions.

Yea, cutting him would be terribly stupid. He would make a good LB in the 3-4 (If thats the direction Chan goes)

There ya go. Cut your #1 draft pick less than a year after you draft and sign him to a huge contract. Why bother to see what he might be able to do when actually attending a training camp. Absolutely brilliant.
