......now I'd kill to have him coaching here. Be careful what you wish for.

Re: I was totally against hiring Leslie Frazier
I'm not thrilled with the Chan pick, but frankly....you can only get to work for you those that WANT to work for you...Cowher, Harbaugh and some others considered A-list simply were not going to come to Buff, it's that simple. Now the question becomes....who does Chan bring in as coordinators? Should be interesting to watchI've upped my standards...now up yours

Re: I was totally against hiring Leslie Frazier
Gailey was a bland pick but may actually be able to attract some quality asst. coaches. Time will tell.
I had little to no hope for young Schott, Frazier, Grimm, Rivera and others to be a 1st time head coach and find good asst.'s. Despite all the feel good stories, this locker room wouldn't buy into them as HC's in training.Anonymity is an abused privilege, abused most by people who mistake vitriol for wisdom and cynicism for wit

I'm pretty upbeat about the direction the team is heading, actually.
I just hope he can pull some quality assistants in here with him.YardRat Wall of Fame

Dude, I was horrified when I learned that Haslett might be in the running for head coach; how stupid was I? I'd love to have him now.
I'd rather prop Vince Lombardi's corpse up on a chair on the sidelines than have Gailey run the show."Miami played pretty damn good today and still got their ass kicked."

Re: I was totally against hiring Leslie Frazier
To be honest
Gailey or Frazier
Frazier or Haslett
After Marty and Bill were out of the running I really didn't have any strong opinions at all about who would coach.
Gailey has HC experience, which I will definitley give him a few points over any 1st time HC. Being capable of organizing an entire football team on the field is not as easy as many think. SO Gailey definitely deserves those bonus points
For me it comes down to what Nix does with players. I expect a massive investment this offseason. If players refuse to come here and play for Ralph, Russ, Nix and Chan, then it's pretty safe to say we're simply waiting for that fateful day when Ralph no longer is involved.
Problem is there won't be many FA's available and those that are, are sure to go to a pasture that actually has some green in it.
So now were left with a single draft to make this huge change over to a solid playoff contending team...
So either Chan Gailey is about to prove to the world that he was the most underrated coach in the histroy of the sport, or we fans are still 2-4 seasons away from this franchisne fielding a team that doesn't look as inept as it has the last 10Last edited by ddaryl; 01-20-2010, 08:12 AM.
