  • A wildcard (cat) at QB

    Mike Kafka, Nortwestern.

    6ft3, 216lbs.

    A dual threat option.

Pat Fitzgerald, Head Coach, "He has a cannon of an arm"

Teddy Greenstein, the Chicago Tribune, "And he's not a finished product. Other guys played quarterback coming out of the womb and worked with gurus from the time they were 7 years old. He played only one year of high school quarterback. His best years are ahead of him"

Adam Atkins, the Tampa Tribune, "He comes to work. He's really focused on what he wants to do and gets it done".

Regarded has having tireless work ethic, and great leadership.

Finished his senior season throwing 116 consecutive passes without an interception, and a QB rating of 65.7%, with five 300yds games for an overall 3430 yds, 16 TDs and 12 Ints plus another 8 rushing TDs.

Once ran for 217yds off 27carries in 2008 against Minnesota

As a 5th-7th pick he'd be an excellent guy for Gailey to work with.

I have a strong feeling we will be looking hard at these later round QB's that are under the radar

but who they will pick will remain a mystery till the pick itself IMO

I don't know anything about this guy or the majority of college players ot make an intelligent comment on his ability

I think what Kafka has over Edwards is size (6ft3, 216lbs v 5ft11, 185lbs) and level of competition with Kafka playing in the Big10

It is almost certain that Edwards will be moved to WR, but Kafka has the potential to be a legitimate QB

I agree with this. I don't really expect the Bills to nab a QB in the first or second round, but on day two, if they see someone they like, they will grab him.

I didn't watch the Shrine game, but according to one report I saw (not sure if I can find it again) Kafka was far and away the most impressive QB on the field. Of course, all the QBs were second day prospects at best.

I don't think he was talking about running the wildcat with Kafka, the (cat) is because Northwestern is the Wildcats. and he would be a "wildcard" at QB because he's not a "top" prospect.

He's an intriguing prospect, he's currently a UDFA on my value board but could sneak into rounds 6 or 7. He's worth a project pick, and the one thing I like about him is his toughness.

Kafka is a one-year starter. Do you want to roll the dice on a guy who had only one good season, like another #1 pick we all love to bash?

Err - in Rounds 5 to Rounds 7 it is more than acceptable to take a gamble.
