If he's there at 9, I say draft him, but I doubt he'll last.

wow... looks like he has an above average arm. I agree, -if he's still there it's a no brainer.

And we need a QB even worst!

i dunno man, its a push. i watch a LOT of college football andno QBs this year look like they are NFL quality QBs to me. plus what good is a rookie QB if hes running for his life on every passing down. we could have tom brady back there, but if hes on his back hes worthless

Draft Clausen at 9, and get our tackle with our second pick, or do what we always do, and trade back in the 1st. for one. FDM. :hi5:

Yeah I don't know why we would want that guy. We might actually get a real qb and get into the play-offs this decade.

Gonna have to trade up though to get him.

Personally I think the Bills will look for a late round QB to develope keep Edwards and try and bring in a vet that can be effective for a few years, and use the #9 pick to grab an immediate impact player

hawaiis defense is atrocious

thats I was thinking. Tough to access IMO, considering he rarely had to make throws under duress. I do love the kids arm though. Very strong, and accurate passer, but I still wanna an OT or McClain more than Bradford or Claussen.

doesn't matter who the defense is.

You are looking at his arm strength, release, accuracy, poise, agility, smarts, toughnes and if he is capable of making all the throws.

check,check,check,check,check,check,check,check

Disagree, he had plenty of late drives under pressure where he had to lead. His supporting cast was very good, but he also made some nice throws under pressure. However, he also threw some up for grabs too.

He reminds me a little of Brees. If we could get half that it might be worth it.

I dont buy the idea of "why get a qb if we dont have the line to protect him". If a Peyton Manning was there I dont care if half the line was missing, you pick him.

There are no peytons definitely, but the line is so fine between a playoff QB and a very average QB. Take Edwards. He looked like the real deal. Then for whatever reason POOF, benched.

If Clausen has adequate arm strenght and height, but has the "it" every QB needs, then we have to take a hard look at getting him if available. No team wins in the NFL without a QB.

But Polian took the intelligent decision of drafting Tarik Glenn the year before Manning.

There are certainly no Manning's in this draft which is closer to the 2005 and 2007 drafts in terms of QB quality in the 1st round projections.

God bless Youtube.com It makes any of us into a draft scout by letting us watch videos of a player's best plays.

this was one of the 3 games i looked at for my review in the draft section about clausen

here are my notes from that game.

1) pass left (WR Screen) on target at the top of dropback, easy pass
2) pass right (wr slant) 1st option, threw late, double pumped, bad feet, on target
3) pass right (rb screen) on target, thrown low and behind
~4) pass right (10 yard out) bad feet, held too long, pass short and too far outside
5) pass right (rb screen) on target
6) pass right (wr screen) on target
7) pass right (rb screen) high, bad feet
8) pass center (te skinny post) on target, presnap read, no look off, good feet.
9) pass center (wr drag/box in?) on target, 2nd option, late throwing the ball off play action ~likely sack in pros
10) pass left (wr screen) 3 step drop lazy footwork, ball on target
11) pass left (wr screen) 3 step drop good footwork, ball on target, presnap read, not called screen
~12) pass right (5 yard out) 7 step drop, poor play action, solid footwork, pass a little late, wr dropped accurate throw
13) pass center (wr slant) 2nd option, fast checkdown, solid and descisive, accurate pass
+14) pass right (corner rout) pre snap read, poor feel for the pocket. scrambled unnecessarily, threw the ball late and short, TD ~likely incomplete in pros as WR would be better covered
15) pass right (wr curl) bad play action, good feet ball really late. no look off. ~pass int in pros
+16) pass left (WR streak) weak play action, weak look off, good pre snap read, pass too far inside, with safty coverage over top that's an int or inc in pros. TD
17) pass center (TE seam rout) first option, thrown behind and not in stride
18) pass left (wr screen) on target, good feet.
~19) pass right (wr streak) presnap read, first option, tossup/jumpball, probably inc or int in pros. Coverage was perfect. bad choice, didn't check down to hot rout on the blitz
20) pass right (wr streak) presnap read, scrambled right. never looked off primary, jumpball. little different from a hail marry. complete due to poor coverage. Pass late, pass poor, bad throw and choice on the run
+21) pass left (wr corner rout) presnap read, double covered, beautiful pass and footwork, best looking pass of the game (TD)
22) pass right (wr screen), poor footwork, on target
+23) pass right (RB screen), well designed and exicuted, perfect timing and accuracy (TD)
24) pass right (wr screen), presnap read, not a called play, bad pass, poor footwork
+25) pass right (wr streak), presnap read, well thrown and on time, perfect footwork, 2nd best pass of the game (TD)
~26) pass center (wr drag), 2nd option bad footwork, off target

~ denotes an incomplete on the play
+ denotes a TD on the play

pass distribution

Left - 6
Center - 5
Right - 15

screens - 11

good pass/bad pass % - 14 good pro passes = 53%
gp/bp% without screens - 7 good pro passes = 46%

his release is really funky... but he's a good QB. IDK though, I think i would rather have Bradford... but either would be fine
