    Does Sanders change things

To my knowledge, Sanders has never coached a 3-4 front.

    Am I wrong here?

I like Sanders he did a great job last year, but this I find puzzling.

It may well be we'll run a hybrid.

We shall see who becomes available in free agency and the draft.

But if we can draft some decent guys who are better in a 4-3 defence, then we'll take them instead of risking reaching or overpaying for strictly 3-4 guys.

There's no point in saying 3-4 and then realising the personnel cannot adapt to it and you cannot get in the right players without overpaying

I think Sanders is the defensive coordinator. It just makes sense after the latest news. Moving to a 34 would entail rebuilding both sides of the ball. Staying with a 43 makes more sense. Add a few pieces to the D and focus on rebuilding the O.

Its mainly a 4-3 LB coach switching to 3-4 that will be effected I think. Sanders will be fine. He also coached Miami in 2000 and Florida for most of his career. Idk if they ran a 3-4

I would think if you're a good enough coach to make it to the elite level of the NFL, then as a position coach you should be able to coach players in any scheme. I mean it's not like you're comparing apples and oranges when talking about a 3-4 DL or a 4-3 DL. It's still the DL. So I don't think it really means anything except that they like Sanders and the job he does and want him to continue to be a part of the staff.

You tell me. You were the one reporting from your source that we were moving to the 3-4.

Saying a 4-3 coach can't effectively teach a 3-4 is like saying a basketball coach that stresses man 2 man can't teach a zone. It's idiotic.

Bet your praying they hire a 4-3 coach so you can have at me too, huh.

only matters when your wrong. Don't suppose you'll give any credit for reporting Catavolos would be retained 9 hours before the Bills or anyone else did though, right?

Sanders served under Bates in Miami for 4 years where Bates run the 4-3 using two big DTs in Bowens and Gardner

He then worked in a similar defence in Green Bay.

I don't know what he did in college, but it was before 2000

I'm betting Sanders will be the D coordinator and we will stay with the 43. You can't rebuild both sides of the ball in one season. The O needs more attention then the D does imo.

but if you are bringing in a new regime you tend to go with a specialist, not hope the coach adapts alongside the players

I didn't know Sanders was the DC.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
