Chiefs, Pendergast finally part ways

Posted by Gregg Rosenthal on January 28, 2010 7:15 PM ET
When Romeo Crennel arrived in Kansas City, the assumption was that Chiefs. defensive coordinator Clancy Pendergast would leave. Then there was talk that he would stay, a report that he'd leave, and a head coach that wanted him to stay.

On January 28, we can finally say Clancy Pendergast will not work for the Chiefs anymore.

The decision to part ways was "mutual" according to the Kansas City Star and the team's website confirmed the move. It's possible the two sides waited to see if Pendergast found another job while networking at the Senior Bowl.

The Chiefs also announced Dedric Ward and Bob Bicknell will not be back.

Anthony Pleasant and Richie Anderson were both hired after serving minority coaching fellowships with the Chiefs in 2010. Pleasant will be an assistant coach on the defense, and Anderson will coach the wide receivers.

Hmmm, well if he's our guy it should be done by weekend's end.

EDIT: Sorry carelessness on my part, didn't see previous posts.
