    ESPN Chat Wrap

So I'm a little bored and killing time at work. I came across a chat wrap from yesterday on ESPN with Melrose, Barnaby, and LeBrun.

Anyways, I was stopped dead in my tracks on the third question to Melrose:

    Kris (PA)

Come April, who do you see as the top five teams in the East?
    Barry Melrose (3:05 PM)

Washington, New Jersey, Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and Boston.
Wait, what? Philly and Boston as a top 5 team in the East?

I've looked everywhere on the site and it definitely appears as if it was done yesterday. If this were the beginning of the season I can see it, but not yesterday.

Am I wrong or is Melrose really this dense?

Nevermind. He answered my own question with more moronic answers.

I apologize everyone. This thread is an epic fail.

          Barry Melrose (3:18 PM)

Thomas Vanek is untradeable. It's hard to trade a guy that makes 10 million a year and only has 10 goals. They just need to hope that he starts scoring more because it looks as if the Sabres are stuck with him.
Melrose doesn't even know his ****. I've said it before - he's a hack - he always has been and always will be.

Whats a better nick name? Matt 'The Rat' Barnaby or Rob 'Razor' Ray?

            Matthew Barnaby (4:12 PM)

Definitely Matt 'The Rat'. It should be Rob 'I have a huge cranium' Ray. Luckily he can't read so I'm safe.

Rat says I can't read?!? How about I give him the same treatment I gave this Nordiques fan way back when....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eElspvew7rw
              Matthew Barnaby (4:24 PM)

Rob, you're supposed to be at my house fixing my plumbing. Get back to work. I'm paying you by the hour.

What do the sabres do at the deadline? Back up goalie, grit, free up cap space by tradiing a player for draft pick or nothing?
                Pierre LeBrun (4:48 PM)

Pat, I spoke with Darcy Regier on Monday and it sounded very much to me like unless there was a perfect, perfect deal out there, he was likely going to be fairly quiet. He, like some other GMs, belives the trade deadline day is not a great way to improve your team; too much overpaying
                agreed

It was that answer and the one above with the backhanded compliment to Ryan Miller that made me realize what I was reading. I should've known the minute I typed in ESPN.com
