I know that he just got a job as Defensive Coordinator with the Florida Gators. But him and Gailey coached together in Dallas. It also makes some sense as to why we are waiting until after recruiting is over. Losing their new DC would really piss off some recruits for the Gators. It would be really bad if this leaked out before recruiting was over. I have no sources or anything, it's just a guess.

He just became the DC at Florida when Strong left, why would he leave the Gators?

How about bringing Ted Cottrell back?

I was also thinking about that one. It makes a lot of sense. He knew Buddy Nix from San Diego and we already brought back DeHaven, why not Teddy too? Plus I heard that he's been replaced as Head Coach of the NY Sentinals by Chris Palmer.

That's true. But this DC was hired 2 weeks ago. I'm sure some people would be upset with him leaving after telling them how much he liked it in Florida and recruiting them...

I think it would be a very good hire. But only if we switched to the 3-4. He was much better with the Bills and Chargers in a 3-4 than he was with the Jets in a 4-3.

Mikey, I think you are right. After Gailey was hired, ESPN Insider had a link to possible hires. He was one along wityh the OC from San Diego (Shelmon) and Jim Jeffcoat. I have no ESPN Insider access or link but that was on the ESPN Insider page a day after Gailey was hired.
