we don't match up with them...

That's weird.. against Pittsburgh we've collected 3 of a possible 4 points. The shootout loss came with Lalime in net.

So yes, you've lost half of your mind.

The Ottawa game is huge. They're putting a run together and could possibly be breathing down our necks but the end of the season for the division title. It's a big four point swing that we need to take.

Could we play the games before panicing, complaining and cries of woe and doom?

The Sabres need to play a ton better in these next two games then they have recently. Their scorers need to wake up and start finding the back of the net.

We have 3 games in hand on Ottawa, so even if we lose, I'm not panicing.

If we win in regulation, and win 2 of the 3 games in hand, we are back into a double digit lead in the points.

Ottawa is very streaky- win 10 in a row, lose 5 in a row. They won't sustain this effort.

It's a long season - and two games is hardly a streak. They could just as easily win their next two games in a row.

That being said, although I really like the Sabres, I just don't see them going 'all the way' this year. Some of their execution and team work seems sloppy, and all too often they're facing a 'come from behind' situation.

i the Pens are a great team and the Sens have had Buffalo's number. these two games are not going to make or break the season.

Losing by one goal. Not totally complaint worthy.

I walked away for like 5-10 minutes while the Sabres were up 3 to 2, and I came back to discover - to my horror - Pittsburgh was up 5 to 3.

Sabres are definitely not looking strong in the 2nd half of the season.

Miller and Myers had a bad 2nd period.

I think a thread complaining about complaints that havent happened yet is a bit ******ed

It's unfortunate, but most of us had the feeling they would drop these 2 games against formidable playoff opponents.

The team is missing something. they're a better team then the last couple of years, but they need an adjustment heading into the playoffs if they are going to compete to win it all.

you'd think so, but it turns out he was right. Over the last 4 games, the Sabres had a chance to make a statement and gain some ground in the EC. Instead, they took a mere 3 points out of 8. Meanwhile, the Caps are on an 11 game tear and the Senators are on a 10 game tear and-more importantly- are now only 3 points behind the Sabres for the division crown.

Eb saw it coming. It wasn't all that difficult based on how this team has played so far this season.

I'm not happy that I was correct...fwiw, this team doesn't match up against Ott or Pitts...there is just something that they can't get over. Look at the way they lost...Crosby basically explodes and Alfredsson gets free...is it maturity, lack of a superstar, in their head? I don't know. This team does have the talent - personally, I think it is maturity.

I'm not worried about Pittsburgh as much as Ottawa.

The Sens have dominated Buffalo this season and last.

Buffalo has been fairly even with Pittsburgh this season. Lost in a shootout with Lalime in net, won in regulation, and should've won Monday night had Miller not melted down.

The title of the thead is why you got flack, and it was well deserved. Sure there was a decent chance given how they were playing to think we would lose these two games, but you wanted people to complain about losses before we even played. That is just wrong.

Sure we don't match up well with Ottawa, they play physical and we don't. We don't match up with any team that plays physical.

Gotta get some of the soft players off this team. When you can still count the physical players on one hand that play nightly, then you have a problem. I did at least see MacArthur throw is body around a bit last night. We need a lot more of that.

the Olympic break may come at the right time for some of these players to rest and work on things. this team needs another scorer to help beat the likes of Pittsburgh and Ottawa. hopefully, Regier can find the right guy before the trade deadline.

you know what the worst ****ing part about this is?

Go back 2-3 years and you can find at least 10 posters complaining about the exact same things.

The Sabres said they were going to get more physical after losing Drury and Briere. Fair enough- we didn't win with Drury and Briere, largely because we got pushed around by a more physical Ottawa team.

Fast forward 3 years- we're still not physical enough and we're still getting pushed around by a more physical Ottawa team.

I know, I was one of those posters.

I think Darcy screwed up in drafting Kassien. He actually plays physical.
