Bills head coach Chan Gailey moved closer to filling out the balance of his coaching staff as the club announced the hiring of three new assistants and the retention of another on Monday.

Buffalo hired George Cortez as quarterbacks coach, Bruce DeHaven as special teams coach and Stan Hixon as receivers coach. Adrian White was also retained from the previous coaching staff.

“Things are coming along well with the staff at this point,” Gailey said. “Time is not as important as getting it right and we feel really good about the coaches that we have right now.”

Who the hell will be the DC. That's the golden question, can't wait till we finally name one.

DeHaven should be a pretty good replacement for April. Maybe not an even wash, but about as good as could be expected.

I'm excited to see what Cortez can do with the passing game or see what he can do in developing qb's.

I'm intrigued by the Cortez hire...

Happy that DeHaven is back as special teams coach, that does help palette the loss of April

I know nothing about Hixon....yet.. waiting for info in 3....2....1.....

Hixon was WR's coach for the Redskins since 2005 and before that was WR's coach at LSU, where he helped tutor Michael Clayton, Josh Reed, Devery Henderson and Skyler Green to terrific seasons.

Surprised Dat Nguyen after being rumored is still not named.

National Signing Day is Wednesday which is the last requirement for College coaches if our DC is coming from those ranks.

Maybe we're going with Dat Phan and not Nguyen

Why does the name Bruce DeHaven sound familiar?

Why does the name Bruce DeHaven sound familiar?

Cuz he was our special teams coach during the days of that Music City Miracle.... he was fired after that, but now is back...

Maybe the DC is on the staff of Indy or NO and that's why we haven't heard anything. Maybe.

i doubt it.. you guys think greg williams is dying to come back? neither one of their defenses is really anything to write home about.. so your telling me we are waiting for some linebacker coach or some d line coach to be promoted to DC?? come on..

More likely waiting until after Wednesday (National Signing Day for high school recruits) for a guy from the college ranks.

I went through Indy's and NO's list of coaches, and didn't see anybody that had any apparent ties to Gailey or Nix.

I'm thinking DraftBoy is right...we'll probably find out after signing day.

Not excited at all about on Hixon but I guess you can't have B-level coaches at EVERY spot right?
