The Philadelphia Daily News reports Philadelphia Eagles QB Kevin Kolb said he is ready for the opportunity to become a starting quarterback in the NFL; however, he added that he will be a team player as the team figures out their quarterback situation. "I want to be a starter in the NFL. That's my No. 1 goal right now," Kolb told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I want that opportunity. But I'm going to be a team player. I trust Andy (Reid, the Eagles' head coach). I trust his decisions and his ability to see what's in the future and plan out my career the right way. Hopefully, we'll do those things to get me on the field at some point, not knowing when it's going to be." Both QB Donovan McNabb and Kolb are entering the final season of their respective contracts. The Kolb camp seems open to discussing a contract extension that would pay the quarterback either as a starter or a backup depending on the situation.
