Eagles | Kolb wants opportunity to start
Mon, 01 Feb 2010 08:30:53 -0800

The Philadelphia Daily News reports Philadelphia Eagles QB Kevin Kolb said he is ready for the opportunity to become a starting quarterback in the NFL; however, he added that he will be a team player as the team figures out their quarterback situation. "I want to be a starter in the NFL. That's my No. 1 goal right now," Kolb told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "I want that opportunity. But I'm going to be a team player. I trust Andy (Reid, the Eagles' head coach). I trust his decisions and his ability to see what's in the future and plan out my career the right way. Hopefully, we'll do those things to get me on the field at some point, not knowing when it's going to be." Both QB Donovan McNabb and Kolb are entering the final season of their respective contracts. The Kolb camp seems open to discussing a contract extension that would pay the quarterback either as a starter or a backup depending on the situation.

if we are putting together typical billszone type trades, i'd like to propose the bills 6th round pick this year and a 7th next year for Vick, Jason Peters, and Desean Jackson.

that's fair right? The eagles would do that.

and i forgot, add lynch and whitner to sweeten the pot. that's going to help close the deal if needed.

I'd take Vick here. Probably the best/most realistically option for us.

Vick isn't worth more than a 5th rounder.

yeah... that below 50% completion is what will get them into the playoffs. c'mon bro.... you're overlooking the obvious.

well McNabb will probably be in Arizona now that Warner retired.

And Vick... he'll probably be in Oakland. Al Davis can't say no to speed

If there is one QB on that Eagles roster I want its not McNabb, its NOT Vick. Its Kolb.

No, I mean for who's going to be available. I'd rather draft Bradford or Clausen but I don't see them on the board. So, out of all the options, Vick is the best. I'd take him over leftwhich or Culpooper. Vick looked good at the end of the year and a full offseason of training will get his speed back.
