I have been thinking the same thing...I think he has some upside, and has sat for 3 or 4 years behind Rivers, maybe he has something. Who knows. That is the Aaron Rodgers theory kicking in, but I we are desperate for anything, including potential at this point.

Would u rather give up a 4th or 5th for
1) Vick, or
2) a 2010 QB via draft or
3) a 3rd round pick from 3 yrs ago, sitting and learning the NFL maybe ready to explode as the next QB to become a pro bowler or better????

know whats funny? Brian Brohm is a 2nd round pick from 2 years ago...

Whitehurst has never thrown a single pass in the NFL....are you a Clemson fan or just a charlie whitehurst fan?

Take a look at Whitehurst's pre-season stats. Sheesh, and people want to chuck Brohm because of pre-season stats?

While, don't put me in the Charlie Whitehurst bandwagon, but, QB's are at a premium right now. Our chances of landing a proven QB are very slim, and probably the only one we have a chance is Donovan McNabb. Many possible QBs out there who we may try to get besides drafting are like Derek Anderson, Troy Smith, Mike Vick, David Carr, Kyle Boller and bums like that. Whiteburst is worse then all these? Probably not? I don't know.... and is he worse then what we currently have? Probably not either.

I wouldn't be against getting him assuming he comes very cheap.
