    Low Risk Move, Odell Thurman

A Former elite LB coming out of college. He played well, when he was on field. Problem was he hasn't been on field since his rookie year. Talent was never an issue, the guy was a moron and had major character issues. But he has been working hard to clean his life up and I heard he played well in UFL. I know that doesn't say much. But I bet you can sign him at league minimum. No risk at all, cut him if he sucks or causes drama.
    ------------
There's no denying that Odell had the tools to be a stud linebacker in the NFL and he showed a lot of promise his rookie season. Unfortunately, the Bengals watched their second round pick in 2005 become the target of Chancellor Roger Goodell's tightening personal conduct policies. Thurman hasn't played in the NFL since his rookie season in 2005.

However, he's reportedly working hard to make something of his life, making a stop with UFL's Orlando team, where former Bengals defensive coordinator Chuck Bresnahan works as a coordinator. And Chuck is mightily impressed with the progress that Odell is making.

“Odell played lights-out football. It was really fun to watch him come back and do the things he loves to do,” Bresnahan said. “On the practice field, in the games, even in the meeting rooms during training camp and the season, he was incredible. His personality is infectious. He did a tremendous job.”

After all the cr*p we went through with Marshawn, we don't need another headcase on this team.

Not a bad idea really. I think taking a run at guys, that know what the bottom is, would be a good move. These type of players(that actually have talent) imo will play even harder to prove they still got it.
      thats whats up

I LOVE this idea, Odell is a phenomenal football player and I think he's a better man now

He is begging for an opportunity to get back in league.

Sadly besides Poz he has more talent than any LB on our squad, that is very sad considering he hasn't played in like 3 years!

Might as well, what do we have to lose?

I wouldn't mind this move at all.

I saw most of his UFL games including one in person. He'd start immediately if we signed him. With Mitchell, Poz & Thurman we'd be well on our way to having a good group at LB especially if we went to 3-4 and had to get just one more guy.

I'd love it. Besides, if Hargrove is any proof... guys deserve a second chance.

Low risk/high reward move. Go for it.

i watched one ufl game he played this year.. just happen to notice his name early on and remembered him from his rookie season.. i had him as a lb on my fantasy team and remember the points he racked up that season..

in the game i watched, and i couldnt tell you who he was playing.. he was everywhere.. i know it is not a great gauge.. but he was playing like his hair was on fire.. it was actually really impressive..

                          Is 3-4 scheme, Odell's strength?

put a conduct clause in his contract that terminates if he were to F up. it would be a low risk move that could possibly pay off.

it would make entirely too much sense for us to make a move like this.
