    Colts release QB Druckenmiller

Quarterback Jim Druckenmiller was released today by the Indianapolis Colts, ending his NFL comeback after a three-year layoff.

Druckenmiller hasn't played in the NFL since 1998 and hasn't thrown a pass in a game since 1997, the same year San Francisco selected him with the 26th overall pick in the first round of the draft.

The Dolphins released him before the 2000 season before he ever played a game. He played one year in the short-lived XFL, finishing third in yards passing and second in touchdowns with the Memphis Maniax.
