Option as a #3 OT? 35 years old, but a solid veteran, and could probably play a little LT if we needed him to.

Thoughts?

Absolutely. There is no reason we shouldn't bring him in to compete for a job on the line and at worse being a viable backup. At 35, he could come cheap.

He got beaten out in Jacksonville ... one step forwards, five paces backwards

It would just superficially covering for a week or two areas we must desperately upgrade in R1 on the draft

Nobody is saying you pickup Thomas you don't get a 1st Round OT. But who else on the line can provide any kind of veteran level head presence? We have nobody to teach the young kids. You sure as hell don't want Richie Incognito's hot head teaching anybody.

Depends on how much $ he wants.

Played in 8 games, started 3 of them. He worked a lot with 1st Round pick Eugene Monroe before and during the season.

Definitely think Thomas can come in and play LT for us. Solid all around player who was great for Philly for 10 years.

Only reason Jags are letting him go is they drafted Munroe and Britton high last year and they have turned into full time starters.

I have a feeling Flozell Adams will also be released soon and possibly Chris Samuels.

Another player to look for is Kareem Mckenzie, RT of the Giants. Beatty might be ready to take over at RT for the Giants.

All would be upgrades for us.

NFC East OTs here we come.

i would love the move because yes he could help the young OT's and be at worst a backup

2 words... Vet minimum... That's gonna approach $1M.

If we can sign a 36 year old WR with questionable hands to much hoopla, we can sign a 35 year old OT to a 1 year deal as a smart insurance policy...without the hoopla.
