Is a player everybody recognizes so I figured I'd beat all the tards to the punch and start the thread.

Not a 34 LB so he's useless to us.

He plays the 3-4 very well.... what are you talking about? I think he'd be a very good fit for the Bills.

Where did he play a 34? Enlighten me. Eagles? Giants?

If Pierce is able to play in a 3-4, I'd love to get him. He's a solid linebacker and an even better leader. He'd bring a lot of accountability to the defense.

He would probably play inside, and we have Mitchell and Posz for that...it would be a waste of resources in my opinion.

He's never played a 34 system. Not in Philly, not in Washington and not in NY.

Adam Caplan, of scout.com and sirius radio said he's better suited for the 3-4... and mentioned Buffalo as a perfect fit. I'm not going to look up where he played in a 3-4 or what not, but I will take Caplan's word for it. Nothing against you, you're one of my favorite posters on the BZ but i just trust Caplan a little more is all.

He's 32 and could have a lingering neck problem, which caused him to miss 7 games and a vote of No Confidence from the Giants.

But he's a good fit for us... because WE HEARD OF HIM !

Got it.

How come every time a player gets released from another team there's always a thread weighing in on why we should or shouldn't pick him up?

We haven't been competitive in over a decade.

Because the season is over and now is the time of year to discuss who we should sign, who we should cut, who we should draft... We all want to see this team get better, so it's only natural for us to discuss all the different options out there. It's a long off-season. What else would we talk about right now?

Yeah, he'd help them hide their guns after they shot themselves in the leg.

What people are missing is that he has bulging disks in his neck, which is a career killer for most athletes. Coy Wire is the only athlete from memory that has come back from this injury and has been successful, although I'm pretty sure Coy re-injured his back last season while playing for Atlanta. The bottom line is, he will never be the same, he will be a shell of his former self at best, I really don't want him here.
