    Redskins' Trotter Back in Action

    Washington Post Staff Writer
    Friday, June 6, 2003; Page D03

Washington Redskins middle linebacker Jeremiah Trotter participated in a morning practice at Redskins Park yesterday, his most extensive on-field activity since undergoing surgery to repair the torn anterior cruciate ligament he suffered during a loss at Dallas on Thanksgiving day.

"They're trying to work me in," Trotter said as the Redskins began their final practices before training camp. "Hopefully, I'll get to do more next week. It's going good. It felt great. I'm just slowly trying to get back into it. We're being smart about it."

Trotter had attended offseason practices but had been withheld from drills until yesterday. He said he had "no doubt" he will be ready to play at full speed when training camp opens July 28 at Redskins Park.
