The best quarterback on the field Thursday morning during the Broncos' minicamp practice was not new starter Jake Plummer, but backup Steve Beuerlein.
Time after time, the 38-year-old Beuerlein set up in the pocket, quickly found his receiver and delivered a perfect strike. All the while, Plummer watched, admired and, most important, learned.
"I call him a wily vet," Plummer said after practice. "He knows what he's doing and makes it look so easy."
