Report: Dansby not interested in Bills

With free agency looming in less than a month and the Buffalo Bills in need of defensive talent to accommodate their schematic switch, a lot of fans were hoping free agent Arizona linebacker Karlos Dansby would be on the team’s short list of wishes. Perhaps he is, but according to a New York Post report (http://www.nypost.com/p/blogs/giantsblog/report_yes_dansby_is_interested_srYM88iqDKPKefWVdzr51I), Dansby isn’t attracted in coming to play in Orchard Park next fall.

Dansby listed four teams he’d be interested in signing with when free agency starts and not surprisingly, Buffalo wasn’t among the potential suitors. Dansby reportedly would like to play for the New York Giants, San Diego, Washington or division rival Miami.


Regarded as one of the more talented linebackers in the league, Dansby had 109 tackles to go with a sack, interception and forced fumble last year. He’s had the franchise tag placed on him the last two years in Arizona but this year is expected to be able to test the market.

Buffalo would obviously love to get their hands on his talent, but even if he was interested the price would probably come too high for a team with multiple holes and a GM in Buddy Nix who said the Bills won’t be overly active in free agency.

Upon reflection your right. Better choice of wording would be "Dansy lists four teams he's interested in; Buffalo not among them"

what free agents wouldnt want to go to washington they over pay for many free agents

I am in thevia thinking we need to add an OLB FA but i think we would b better served going after a cheaper option and spend the money on a NT
Porter has a nice ring to it for 2 yrs and gives us time to draft his replacement
With Maybin moving Outside and Schobel if he comes back being a pass rush specialist and mitchell and poz moving inside i think we need NT more than anything

TO probably "wasn't interested" in coming to Buffalo about a month before he did. Not being interested and not naming a team off the top of your head that's one of the places you would most like to go are not the same thing.

Hearing Nix and Gailey talk about not being 'overly active' in free agency pretty much tells me that if we do sign anybody, he will be an under the radar pickup without the flashy name.

Banta-Cain is a guy I'd be seriously interested in. He knows our division, or defensive scheme, and is coming off the best year of his career (10 sacks). He's only 29, and progressively gets better each and every year. Players like Dansby and Ryans are going to command alot of money, and I don't think Buffalo wants to invest their off-season into one guy. Cain would come relatively cheap compared to those guys, and would help this team out tremendously.

The title of this thread is misleading if not disingenuous. Not your best effort Pat. :(

The Bills have been able to land a number of big name free agents over the years that could have signed anywhere. Chris Spielman and Takeo Spikes come to mind. The premise that players don't want to come here because of Wilson is utter bull**** that keeps getting repeated by fans who don't know wtf they're talking about.

Players want to sign where they feel they can win. Newsflash, we haven't won squat in 10 years. If a player says where he'd like to play and doesn't scream BUFFALO then it automatically becomes and insult? People please, have you looked at the city of Buffalo in February. Only an eskimo would find it attractive.

I think Gailey, Nix and Whaley are going to make some people wish they'd come here.
