Comments:
2/14/2010- vs. Memphis (replay)- Tall DT. Plays over the C and LG in a 4 down lineman set. Gets nice push by using good leverage and driving his legs (1st 9:26). Consistent in getting push and gets his hands up to bat down passes (1st 8:15). Powerful guy who pushes the pile. Plays with a nasty attitude and his motor doesn't seem to quit. Knifes through the line to get into the backfield (1st 7:33). His game is more strength than speed, but he has decent quickness. Very athletic for a guy this big, doesn't lumber or look like hes too big to be mobile. Really only uses the bull rush move. Needs to learn more moves in the pass rush. But, hes getting consistent pressure against double teams. Faded a bit later in the game. He may need more conditioning to last through a whole game. He isnt an overweight guy who will suck wind late in the game. Hes just the type that gives his all and may not be where he needs to be yet to hold up late.
2/14/2010- vs. Houston, Conf USA Champ. (replay)- Gets through a double team with his strength (1st 13:57). Tried to finesse the G on this play and ended up being a non-factor (1st 13:30). May need to stick to what he does well, driving the pile. Nice job stopping the run at the line and killing the drive (1st 13:01). Not very fast but he has good quickness.
A big mauling DT, who's getting better and better at rushing the passer with 1 sack in 07, 2 in 08, and now 3 in 09.
