View Full Version : Bell had/has torn ACL

Bills OT Demetrius Bell's season-ending knee injury turned out to be a torn ACL.
When he was placed on I.R. in December, it was believed to be from complications of a November knee scope. Though Bell showed promise as a desperation play at left tackle in 2009, he's still plenty raw. His injury, along with Brad Butler's surprising retirement, makes it more likely that Buffalo will target a tackle with the No. 9 overall pick.

Yeah he has a long road back still.

Bell will not be able to contribute this season, we are F...ed at the tackle position.

Yeah, Looks more and more like first thing we address in the draft is tackle, as well as in FA. Lets all hope that once we have a set line, we don't get hit with a ton of injuries again and can have one line consistent throughout the season.

Damn you Brad Butler!

This essentially guarantees we'll be passing on McClain. :sadwalk:

Here's to another year of Mitchell and Marcus Buggs.

This doesn't guarantee anything. There are many ways to acquire a LT, it doesn't have to be via the #9 overall selection.

did he tear it from one of his false start penalties?

McClain is not even an elite prospect, I don't understand why people are fixated on the guy.

Upon doing some research, seems like Meredith and Watkins shoudl have gone higher in teh draft last year. Meredith around 2nd or 3rd Round and Watkins in 4th or 5th. Now I know they are not the answer but maybe there is something there after a full year of Off season work and development. At least maybe Meredith for Right Tackle

Can anybody remind me why we cut Langston Walker again?

so The Old Fart could put a couple million in his pocket.

Walker release was clearly a money grab.. Even if Bell truly did "unseat" him as the starter, there was no cap problem reason to not keep Walker and use him as a backup.

and (somebody posted it back in Sept) supposedly he was a cancer in the locker room.

He didn't fit in our horrid No-Huddle offense that Jauron tried to shove down our throats. :ill:

Ironically, Walker is a UFA again

Yeah, I imagine, Bell's 2010 season is wiped out. Unless Buffalo wants Jonathon Scott on the roster again, the Bills are going to have to work to find some legitimate tackles.

That was beyond dumb ! He was good at RT.

If we don't draft at least 3 tackles this draft, I'll be very surprised.

If it wasn't Ralphs call, I'd bring him back to be the RT today. He was good there.

Lets see we have how many players coming off bad injuries

Trent apparently had his balls removed. Does that count?

we must draft 2 tackles in the first 4 rounds

There is no need to panic.

We draft a LT in Round 1 (Bulaga, Davis, Campbell) and we select another one on Day3 as it is quite possible to find an eventual starting RT in Rounds 5-7.

There is Meredith, Scott and Aaron Ramsey on the roster and it is quite possible that one could step up.

There are also some guys who didn't play in football last year such as Maurice Williams, formerly of the Jags who could be brought in for a look.

he was a fat lard who did well if he just stood there but couldn't pull or make blocks downfield.

zane beadles or rodger saffold in rd 4 would be a good rt option

He was playing Left Guard with the Raiders.
