    Bills hire assistant head coach

Surprisingly, I didn't see this anywhere.

    per rotoworld.com:

Bills hired longtime college coach Daryl Daye as an assistant head coach on Friday.

Daye enters his first season in the NFL after nearly 25 years of college experience. He most recently was the defensive coordinator, special teams coach, and LBs coach at Missouri Southern. Daye's responsibilities will include assisting head coach Chan Gailey in day-to-day operations.

Assistant Head coach, to me, is a pretty big title. So, what makes Daye qualified to be an Assistant HC?

As it's been described, I think the title should rightly be renamed, "Chief Gopher."

Is it me, or do we have a ton of coaches on staff?

I think his job title is "Assistant to the Head Coach" rather than "Assistant Head Coach", so he is just an admin guy. I think the "Chief Gopher" comment is pretty spot on.

I thought he was going to be the assistant to the head coach. Not assistant head coach. That's why I didn't post anything on it.

Those two extra little words actually make a ton of sense!

He is Chan Gailey's answer to Dwight Schrute, nothing more.

Hiring a guy to take care of the mundane crap, thus allowing Gailey to focus more on football, is a good move.

Can't be....Ralph's too cheap to hire a bunch of coaches, two strength/conditioning guys, etc.

Ah, didn't realize that. Thanks for clarifying!

The Buffalo Bills made another addition to their front office staff as Daryl Daye was hired as Assistant to the head coach Friday.

Chan: "Daryl, another cup of coffee, please, then pick up my dry cleaning."

                              Daryl: "I'm on it, coach."

Actually though, he has a wealth of coaching experience at lower collegiate levels.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
