If you want to win Olympic gold in men's hockey, you'll have to stop a scruffy, gap-toothed, trash-talking Russian named Alexander Ovechkin. Good luck.

Mr. Ovechkin, who plays wing for the Washington Capitals, has been confounding opponents in the National Hockey League for five years. Now, as the Olympic hockey tournament heads into its final rounds, the star of the Russian Federation team poses a problem of global proportions.

It looks like Canada stopped him. I don't see his name among those that scored the 3 goals for the Russians.

Man, Canada put a stomping on Russia. Maybe it was a real wake-up call to barely beat Switzerland and lose to the USA?

They had some clips of him seemingly giving up on plays unless he was gassed from all the shifts.

The Russian NHLers are so animate about being allowed to participate in the 2014 games in Russia, and yet they put up a dud like tonight. I know it's likely the last thing on their minds, but they should show a little more effort if they want Bettman to be convinced that the games going forward are a good showcase for hockey.

I lost a ton of respect for Ovechkin last night. Canada stomped his ass, and he reacted like a pussy. Did you see him skate off the ice with a sore finger. You'd think he'd gotten shot. What a pussy. I officially can't stand that ugly bastard anymore.
