Chargers opt NOT to tender Sproles

Is this even possible?? What am I missing here...? Do they have another RB to fill LT and Sproles' spots?

In the same week the Chargers decided to release running back LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego also opted not to tender running back Darren Sproles, freeing him to leave the team in free agency without any compensation, said a source.

That's interesting. They've reportedly been in trade talks with regards to Antonio Cromartie. Makes me wonder if they will look to trade him to the Jets for Thomas Jones.

Lynch to SD for a 2 & 5 makes sense?

Or they may move up to grab Spiller

Maybe we can trade back with them so they can grab Spiller? :O

The problem is that if they're looking to trade for a RB, the deal almost certainly has to contain Antonio Cromartie (plus whatever else is needed). Not sure we need him. Though Cromartie's value is pretty low and he is a decent man CB, which we might need with the defense switch. Depends on if we're playing primarily zone or man. Usually 3-4 D's play man, but some (e.g. GB) play zone.

We should sign Sproles, Tomlinson and Malumaleuna and trade our draft for McNeil, Merriman and Cromartie.

Thomas Jones is going to get cut due to his roster bonus coming up soon, so they won't have to trade for him.

                    Sproles isn't worth 7.3 million.

we are not trading a 23 year old back to back 1000 yard rushing 230 lbs back with 4.4 speed and great talent.
