All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
So far the biggest surprise for me personally was seeing that Navorro Bowman showed up at 242 pounds, and benched 225 26 times (33" arms).
Surprises:
Ben Tate
Roger Saffold
Disappointments:
Andrew Quarless
Jordan Shipley
Why Quarless?
Showed up at 6'4, 254 , 34 inch arms (tied for 3rd longest), 4.69 40 (ties for 5th fastest), 23 reps (tied for 5th most), and 32 inch vertical (worst vertical), and has massive 10 1/4 hands (4th largest hands).
COMING SOON...

Mostly the 40. Obviously 4.69 is decent, but I thought he was more athletic than that. Obviously his measurements are good, but I thought he'd dominate a little more physically at the combine. I did hear good reviews of him.

Sadly Anthony Davis didn't disappoint me because I expected almost nothing from him....
Gilyard was a disappointment though.
I liked Davis but should of took your advice. If Bulaga, Trent Williams, Rodger Saffold, Charles Brown and Bruce Campbell are my choices for LT and in that order.
Trent Williams and Bruce Campbell really helped their stock, especially Trent Williams with that sub 5.0 40 time. I knew Gerhart was going to surprise people with his 40 time, I called a sub 4.5, but sadly the track is causing many of the prospects to run slower times than usual. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Gerhart runs a sub 4.5 at his pro day. Another guy who I still think is going to rise quite a bit is Brandon Graham, he put up 30+ reps at 225lbs as predicted, but we're still waiting on his 40 time.

By the way, my main point here was that Bowman seems to be entering the realm of possibility as a 3-4 ILB. Seeing his 40 time as 4.72 makes it obvious that the weight gain has cost him some speed. However, he always seems to play faster than he looks (although who knows with the extra weight), and speed generally seems to be neutralized at ILB in the 3-4.
I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks about Bowman to ILB. If he can play at that weight...he's good at blitzing , in coverage, and sifting through trash to get to the ball carrier. I think he'd be a good fit, personally, IF he can maintain his level of play at 240-250 lbs.

I can't say that I would be mad if we took him in the 2nd to 3rd round, OBD certainly has a fetish for PSU prospects so your analysis probably isn't too far fetched.
My dissappointment is Gerald McCoy a DT benched 225 23 times.......
What has he been doing at OKLAHOMA..........
He will get lit up by a CENTER in the NFL if he doesnt get stronger.....
McCoy is my Glen Dorsey of this draft OVERRATED............
Trent Williams showed he can play NFL LT without a doubt with that strong display of footwork. I already liked the film on him and wondered why everyone was so quick to project him to RT.
If we picked him at #9, I'd be fine with that. Instant starter at a crying position of need.
McClain deciding to not work out at the last second looks bad. Whatever, since I can see 3-4 ILB's into the middle rounds.

Also, how about Torrell Troup's 34 reps? He's back up to 314 and looked good, seems like he could carry 320+ relatively easy. You can see his lower body strength in games, and this helps answer questions about his upper strength and stamina. 34 inch arms and almost 10 inch hands as well, looks like a very good NT prospect.
