I've heard that he's going to get cut on Friday.

Do you think the Bills would have any interest in him?

Personally (and just my opinion here) I don't think so. . To me he'll fit that mold of backup QB that could start if needed and at best may compete in a team's weak QB camp.. But I think we already have that in Fitzpatrick.

He has a big arm and has had success. I would be interested in having him in camp.

i like him a lot more then edwards or fitzpatrick but that isnt saying much.

i could start our QB search with brohm, anderson and ___________

at least we know anderson wouldn't be lost as the starter

Derek Anderson can't hit the broad side of a barn. He may be the most inaccurate quarterback in the NFL. Bypass.

i'd take derek anderson if there was a draft at one bills drive sneaking under the door to someone's office and he was willing to lay on the floor for 9 hours a day to block the draft.

Other than that, i see no value in DA.

In relation to this, CB posted this on the BB website.

Browns might trade up for QB:

I hope not.

meh.

Is he better than what we have? Probably.

Is he the future- the QB that is going to put this team over the top? Most likely not.

Having him wouldn't hurt and I won't be mad if we do go after him, but I don't really see him as the long-term solution either. I'd just as soon leave it alone.

Hell yes. I don't know what caused him to regress but I'd atleast investigate where his mind and priorities are and give him a chance - it's not like we have a franchise QB at the moment!

I know Cleveland was a really bad team last year, but my only memory of Anderson is him going 2-17 against us and finishing with like a 6.3 qb rating in one of the worst football games I've ever watched. So no thanks.

Although he did "win" that game...

We already have 2 #2 guys on the team. Why do we need a 3rd?

If it doesn't cost a pick, yes. Our QB corps are currently atrocious. With the prospect of bringing in a high to mid round rookie, every bit of veteran competition helps.

Until you take away practice reps and pre-season PT from the rookie.

I'd definitely bring him in, he may not be an elite QB, but when he is in his element he certainly can play with anybody in that upper echelon of QBs. Clearly we would need to revamp our offensive line and bring in some targets for him to be successful, but he certainly would be one of the better QBs we've had in years.

Unless we're discussing Joshua Cribbs, no thanks to Cleveland Browns throw aways.

Well I caught the end of Ron Jaworski on Mike and Mike this morning and he seems to be a fan of Anderson and believes that he can still be a good qb and that one year wasn't a fluke. Don't know if I agree, but I've always had a lot of respect for the opinion of Jaws.

Jaws loooooooves Trent Edwards, too.

In fact, he likes pretty much every quarterback, ever.

Yeah, I guess he is pretty qb friendly.

i agree. he could possibly be perfect in this situation. he's not too old and he's not too beaten. he has some starts under his belt. he may need a new view of Lake Erie. get both T positions squared away through FA and the draft, bring in a veteran WR to go with Evans, and we could see the offense rolling more than it has for the last 3-4 years.

I agree & even if the Bills did draft Bradford or Clausen, why not sign Anderson & have him compete for the job?

I doubt Derek Anderson could beat out Edwards or Fitz. The guy only completed 44.5% of his passes last year and is just 52.9% accurate over his career.

It's between him and JaMarcus Russell in the "who is the least likely to hit water when falling into the ocean" contest.

Now that Jauron is gone I doubt Edwards ever beats out another QB again.

Not a proficient one, no...but we're talking about Derek Anderson.
