WTF! So the Jets will have both Revis and Cromartie? That's sick!

Yeah, reported by Schefter and co. now, they have both of them. Good thing we're running the ball this year?

Run a screen to his side. If he doesn't intercept it will be a nice gain...lol

for a third in 2011??? surprising i think.

Sounds like it's a conditional third; could be upgraded to a second in 2011 based on playing time and how well the Jets do.

I enjoy how when the Jets acquire Cromartie he's a great player, yet when we had discussions about the Bills getting him the general consensus was that he sucked and we had like 8 people link that video of Cromartie deciding not to tackle Thomas Jones.

I don't like him. I like his coverage ability but I don't like his tackling and I don't like his effort.

Who cares he's overrated

and i'm not just saying that now because he might be a Jet, i was saying it when it was rumored we might send Lynch there

Risky trade, but for a 3rd, maybe 2nd in next years draft i will take it, as long as he covers well then we will have a great cb tandem!

I really fail to see how the Jets have gotten better because of the deal. They have released Thomas Jones who is a pretty damn good HB. Granted he is getting up there in age but he is still very productive. They have released Lito Sheppard, who while not fantastic is a pretty decent # 2 CB or a great # 3 CB. There are rumors that Kerry Rhodes might be on the outs.

With that said I have a huge Florida State fan where Cromartie came from. You look at his height, his agility, and speed and you go wow this guy is going to be a double digit pro bowl guy but he underachieved in college and he has underachieved in the pro's. He has had probably two good years since he left High School, one being the 10 int year. Sheppard is just as good as Cromartie plays but Cromartie brings a ton more potential to the position.

A little late on the draw.

I'm not sure what to think of it. Cromartie is an upgrade over Sheppard, but I think he's a little overrated.

Is that conditional? Why the hell would the Chargers take that low of an offer? They must be planning on dumping a lot of salary this year....

1) Cromartie only has a year left on his deal - if the Jets want to keep him beyond a one-year rental, they'll have to sign him to a new deal.

2) He has the potential to be a ballhawk, but is not a good tackler.

3) Seems to have attitude and maturity issues.

It is conditional (could become a 2nd depending on playing time and how the Jets do), but even so, it sounds like the Chargers were lucky to get what they did for Cromartie.

LOL I was just going to say that.

Cromartie still sucks. I'm not worried. If nothing else his attitude will corrupt that lockerroom.

Perfect tandem. You have a shutdown corner on one side and a ballhawk on the other.

If the Chargers were willing to trade him to another AFC team for a 2011 pick........that has to say alot about him imo!

He doesn't suck. He is an upgrade, and he will get the oppositions #2 while Revis shutsdown the #1. Good move by the Jets imo.

Cromartie has talent, but he isn't the brightest bulb. Though he went to Florida State, he can't read:

LINK (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/12/13/chargers-cromartie-singled-out-in-espn-report-on-florida-state/)

ESPN's Outside the Lines did a lengthy investigation into the role of academics in Florida State's football program, and the report that ran on ESPN Sunday morning singled out one former Seminole, Antonio Cromartie, as a player who particularly struggled academically when he was on campus.

The Outside the Lines report quoted a former teammate and classmate of Cromartie's as saying that Cromartie's reading level was so low that he could only read a word or two every minute.

This actually explains a why he is giving Travis Henry a run for his money in the paternity department. Apparently the guy can't understand the directions on a condom wrapper.

That's why you put him in man coverage and tell him to shadow #89 across the l.o.s. from you.
