The Transparancies Nobody Talks

mp3 link (http://artists.mp3s.com/artist_song/1553/1553787.html)

It's Saturday night and I'm sitting on the couch.
I got the big game on and I'm starting to slouch.
Got my honey by my side and ev'rything's great.
The score is tied and it's time for a break.
But that's the time that she thinks it's fine to tell me about her day,
How I should have heard little Joey's first word.
That's what makes me say:

How many times must I warn her? Don't ever talk during Coach's Corner!!

Ron and Don are having a fight over whether Don's tie is just too bright.
It's important stuff when the period's done.
Don gets tough; Ron makes a pun.
It's just about then that she talks again: Her mother phoned today.
"She's doing her best, but she's getting depressed."
That's what makes me say:

How many times must I warn her? Don't ever talk during Coach's Corner!!

"Keep your head up in the trolley tracks."
"Honey, we're paying too much income tax."
"When blocking a shot, keep your stick outa there!"
"Honey, do you think I should cut my hair?"
"Watch that rat, Sergei Hackaleggoff!"
"Suzie's got the flu and Joey's got a cough."
"He's pushing 'round Tie Do---Mi----, so
Drop the gloves; it's time to go!"

It's later in the season and the wife's not here,
But the big game's on and they're selling their beer.
The period's done; there's a knock at the door.
I turn up the volume and I stomp across the floor.
It's a fella named Bernie. He's my wife's attorney
With some stupid papers for me.
He's about to speak. What's wrong with this geek?
Come in and watch TV!!

How many times must I warn yuh? Don't ever talk during Coach's Corner!!

How many times must I warn yuh? Nobody talks during Coach's Corner!!

Even I like Coaches Corner. Most Saturdays DirecTV picks up a HNIC game. I like Sattelite hot stove too, but I wish someone would ***** slap Al Strachan. He's a little too smug for my liking.

IMO, Coach's Corner is the best 6.5 minutes of TV on the planet. Whether you love him or hate him, Don Cherry is almost always right.

I also never understand why people say they don't like the Hotstove. Sure it's more serious, but it's a great discussion of what's going on around the league. Al Strachan is smug, but I like the way he gets under JD's skin frim time to time.

RE HNIC, a really great pairing on non-Coach's Corner nights is Scott Russell and Kelly Hrudey. They work really well together.
