He seems to be having a few off nights more recently. Do you think he is just ftired or something else going on? I know I have commited the cardinal sin to Meyerites, but I am starting to get concered. I am wondering if his yet to be filled frame has taken too much this long into the season.

He looks fine to me.

Defensemen are going to have giveaways or off nights.

He did look tired before the break but I kind of assumed that two weeks off would help solve that problem.

I don't think his play has dropped that much but it is tailing off...and I think the grind of 80 games is getting to him. Would I pull him? No. Do I expect him to play as well down the stretch as he did early? No. But it is all part of the learning. He will be better off for it later.

He's a 20 year old kid who leads our team in ice time... I think he's trying to put too much of the load on his back and in turn, it's causing some of his flaws to be magnified. he's only going to get better though and he is the least of my concerns on this team.

I think he is 18.Only if you listen to the Rangers announce team... they later corrected themselves. I can only assume that was because of the obscenities I yelled at my television.

I agree- I'd term it "growing pains." He has some confidence now and the rest of the team is struggling, so he's trying to do too much. In time, he'll learn and he'll settle down.

Meyers has never played this many games and he was bound to struggle late in the season. The funny part is, even with his struggles, he is still the best defenseman this team has.

MYERS is a 20 year old rookie. Even veterans have off nights and ****ty plays.

Junior seasons are what- 50-60 games? With the condensed schedule a lot of 18 year olds are dropping off fast and hitting the wall. Look at John Tavares.

Last night was something though!

Now only if we could entice him to embrace his American birth and play for Team USA.

From what I have heard he can't play for Team USA ever because he has already played for Canada in Junior tournaments, but I may be wrong there.

I think Brett Hull did it already. It's up to the national team to decide who is elligible or not.

Italy had guys on their olympic teams over the years who's only tie to the country was they had a grandparent born there

From wikipedia

In the 1984 NHL Entry Draft (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1984_NHL_Entry_Draft), the Calgary Flames (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calgary_Flames) selected Hull in the sixth round with the 117th overall pick. Hull then played two years of U.S. college hockey for the University of Minnesota Duluth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/University_of_Minnesota_Duluth). He made his international debut for Team USA at the 1986 Ice Hockey World Championships (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ice_Hockey_World_Championships) in Moscow (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moscow) where he was his team's leading scorer. Being born in Canada, he would also have been eligible to play for Team Canada; however, at the time, the Team Canada management did not show an interest in him.
