All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Football betting news and picks with focus on NFL, college football and sports betting legalization updates across the United States.
It's no secret in NFL circles or here in Baltimore that backup quarterback Troy Smith wants to play for the Cleveland Browns.
Smith has said it. His agent, Ralph Cindrich, keeps saying it.
Now, it's a question of whether the Browns want to give up a fifth-round pick for the restricted free agent by signing him to an offer sheet and seeing if the Ravens want to match or if a trade could be worked out.
COMING SOON...

I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times."
It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
The Browns have been rumored to be after Marc Bugler and Matt Hasselbeck. I doubt they settle for Troy Smith. Maybe if they get rid of Anderson and Quinn, they could get Smith as a backup to a vet?
It seems like a pretty good move for the Browns. They have like three round 5 picks I believe. Ticket sales would go through the roof. But Holmgren doesn't seem like a Troy Smith guy.
I like Smith. Sure he wants to play for the Browns he's an OSU guy. But like every NFL player worth his salt he mostly wants to PLAY. I'd offer the Ravens a 6th and see if they bite.

It seems like he likes to stay close to home so you'd think he wouldn't mind playing for Buf, Pitt, or Cincy either. But I agree with you I think he'd go anywhere if there was a legitimate chance of him competing for the starting job.

If they let me be GM for a day I'd trade a 6th for Smith, sign FA NT Jamal Williams and sign Ben Watson when NE releases him. You add a LT in round one and a LB in round 2 and you've got a chance to be pretty competitve IMO.
I like Troy Smith and think he'd be a nice addition to compete for the QB position (I'm pretty sure he'd win the job over Trent or Fitz). But right now I'm way more concerned with seeing them fill out the new 3-4 D, the OL and even getting a decent WR to play opposite Lee.
Browns acquired QB Seneca Wallace from the Seahawks in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.
The move, likely involving a late-round pick, reunites Wallace with Browns president and ex-Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren. It also paves the way for Derek Anderson's release. Wallace, 30 before the season, offers very little upside, but has shown the ability to at least keep a team competitive in spot starts. He holds a career completion rate of 59.9 and TD-to-INT ratio of 25:14. If training camp began today, he would compete with Brady Quinn to start.
I wouldn't be adamantly opposed to exploring the Troy Smith option. Chances are Buffalo is going to utilize one the picks this season for a 2nd day late round QB (if they choose not to throw punches on day one). Might as well use it on a guy with some NFL experience.
A 4 year veteran that could easily squeeze into Gailey's offense, all for the low, low price of a 5th rounder.
