Good for him. Helping his stock A LOT.

Yeah I saw that...that's 20lbs less than his playing weight this last season. It's encouraging. Hopefully he's just not doing it for that paycheck, then get fat again.

Yeah but I read that he benched like **** and looked weak on the weights

Err I saw he put up 32 reps on nfldraftbible.

Here is my problem the guy lost all that weight, but why did he have to lose the weight in the first place.

He screams Mike "Ate Myself out of the League" Williams to me.

32 reps is good enough for me for a DT. Most interior lineman bench in the 30's anyways

maybe they didn't care how big he was, as long as we was plugging the hole. What did it matter to them?

Did he? Well then someone tweeted some silly ****.

32 is pretty solid.

Why dont you want him?

If he had to go up against quick, edge, pass rushers, I would agree. He doesn't. He needs to take up space, and be strong enough to push interior lineman backward. A NT doesn't need to be as mobile as a LT, or DE. But Id like to see them get push in the middle, and clog running lanes. I think he can do both. Just MO.

Where did you read that? 32 reps at 225, looked more fit and agile similar to what he did his Junior year. Whose reports are you reading?

Some reporter somewhere tweeted he only put up the weight like 22 times.

Yeah, 32 is good, right?

Top Combine Number was 45, so its not elite but its good enough considering how strong his lower body already is.

Who was the reporter?

32 is very solid. Like T-Long said, most DT's put up in the 30's. Gerald McCoy had 23 and Suh had 32.

That's great that he dropped the pounds but will he continue to better himself once he gets his contract?

He screams Mike "Ate Myself out of the League" Williams to me.There is another former Bill who was overweight coming out of college and lost like 20 lbs or more before he arrived at his ultimate playing weight. His name was Bruce Smith.

I love this kid as a prospect. Love him. If he is there at #22, I bet Belichick will take him. I see him on the nose on run downs, with Wilfork sliding out to DE (like he did against Miami, lining up over Jake Long). Or, against spread teams like Indy they can have him and Wilfork in an nickle look with 4 LB and 5 DBs. The great part is he already knows the defense, since he played for Saban.

People talk about the weight, but I'm not really that concerned. He will play at 350-ish, and rotate in for 50% or 60% of the snaps. He will be impossible to move and will take up a double-team. He is explosive enough to push the pocket, although he isn't a pass rusher. He is still young, but with some pro conditioning he will get even stronger. He is the perfect 3-4 DL.

He is a rare commodity, which is why he will go higher than people think (in spite of being a part-time player). Bill Parcells used to talk about his planet theory, which was that there are only a few guys on the planet that can be this big and still be pretty athletic. Cody is a naturally large, strong guy who will anchor the middle of the defense.

So, call him fat all you want, I don't care. I see a rare kid, who reminds me of Ted Washington and Shaun Rogers. Big, tall, strong and impossible to move. I hope me makes it to the Pats.

He would be an awesome pick with our 2nd rounder.

I would not be surprised if he goes in the top 20. He has that kind of ability. I don't care what the draftniks say, he is a rare talent.

I think Tennessee (16) and Pittsburgh (18) would like him as well.

Even Denver (11) is a possibility. They have signed Bannan, Williams and Green, but they are all over 30. Cody could be the anchor of their defense for years.

If he happens to fall far enough, I could see Minnesota being very interested in him. Pat Williams seems close to retirement (don't think he will this year, but could call it quits next offseason), and they could draft Cody as his eventual replacement.

i'm big on Cody also.
The Bills won't take him at #9 though and they won't be lucky enough for him to get to #41.
So it goes.
As Parcells say's with his "planet theory"......that's why you don't pass on 6'5" 350 lb athletic linemen for 5'10" 190 lb safties, because there are hundreds of those guys walking around.
