Cant compare two different players in 2 different systems and Edwards is a better all around player. Can play DT and DE and is better against the run.

they play in completely different defenses. Kelsay is a 4-3 rush end that is expected to get 8-10 sacks as a starter every year and gets 4 1/2 in a good year. Edwards job as a 3-4 DE is to eat up space and take up blockers so LB's can rush free and get the sacks and the tackles for loss Etc. So their jobs are different which is why Kelsay's stats are different. This is just a situation of not knowing the difference between a 3-4 and a 4-3 defense again. The front 3 in a 3-4 all have terrible stats because they are space eaters and take up blockers for others to make big plays.

I think what everyone is trying to tell you in a nice way is that the responsibilities for a DE in a 3-4 are different than those for a DE in a 4-3.

3-4 DE don't get sacks often, the sacks are usually had by the OLB in a 3-4 scheme.

Dwan Edwards gives us a run stopper and a guy with 3-4 experience, it's a very key signing for this defense.
