GREAT DAY, but we have a ways to go...EVALUATE

I LOVE the depth Davis and Edwards bring to the team and even their great potential to be successful starters. We have an OUTSTANDING secondary, solid-good linebackers depending on Aaron Maybin, and potentially a very good D-line that will hold their own.

Now it's on to the offense.

WR and O-line are the holes we need to fill first. I can see us signing Domenik Hixon or Kelly Washington if the coaching staff deems Stevie Johnson and James Hardy not suitable for a 3rd string/starting role, but otherwise I would certainly not be surprised to see us draft Demaryius Thomas, whether it means trading up or taking him in the second round.

In the draft I'm not sure you could predict which way we'll go because it truly will be BPA although based on what Gailey said chances are won't draft a QB early. I think it's EXTREMELY likely that we will trade back because unless we want to go OT none of the guys we want will be worth a pick at 9.

Watch out for C.J. Spiller and possibly Brandon Graham in the first round with a possibility of Tim Tebow, Demaryius Thomas, Terrence Cody, Brian Price, or Bruce Campbell in the second (or after a trade back into the late 1st).

The OT situation is hard to evaluate, but I see a competition at OT between Meredith, Bell, draft pick, and Green. We will take some chances at the position and hope to find a diamond in the rough out of these guys with Green tutoring them.

It's hard to predict things of course, but through round 1 this is generally what I see us doing.

Overall, minimal additional gains in FA and in Rounds 1-2 I see

    1) C.J. Spiller (if we don't trade back)
    2) Demaryius Thomas.

I certainly don't expect everyone to agree with me, but thoughts??

very fair, I say Tebow because if Gailey sees something in this guy I think we'll have genuine interest in him

If they could find a servicable WR in free agency before the draft I'd call this FA period a big success.

I really wish they would consider bringing Owens back, but doesnt seem like that will ever happen.

todays FA signings are no joke

we just seriously solidified our front seven

id say we have 3-5 pieces of the 7 we need in place to run this 3-4 and what is crazy this is closer then we were ever to running a legit 4-3.

          today is a big day

They'd better go LT in one of the top 2 rounds. This is a pretty deep (though not full of stars) draft for WR's. I could see them going LT/NT in the top two rounds, then getting ILB, DE, WR, RB, OLB in the last 5 rounds.

my thing is, how do we expect any QB to be successful with these WRs, we must really plan on going run heavy

anyone still think we're drafting Mcclain?

Spiller or DT is looking more like a possibility

ya doesn't look like mcclain will be the move.

i do think we fill another one of our needs prior to the draft tho

Well Hardy and Johnson are still young and have a chance to step up. I guess I forgot about QB - I'd like to get a developmental prospect. We could probably grab 1 or 2 WR's in the mid to late rounds. I don't mind going young at receiver.

you could say our wrs failed because we didn't have a qb.

yes, but at this point we need to set our QB up the best we can...if we're gunna bring in a new QB u dnt wanna bring one in w/o talent around him

I wouldn't mind seeing a WR, NT or another o-linemen added before the draft.

I say we had talent that was screwed over by coaching and bad qb'ing. Undeveloped wr's due to the same reasons. I do agree that I would like to add another wr for insurance. Wouldn't mind TO back under an offensive coach.
