Duranko courageous despite having ALS

You'd never know it by looking at him, or listening to his belly laughs and bad jokes. At 59, he retains the stout body of a blacksmith. He still croons the Notre Dame fight song - in Polish.

But slowly, surely and cruelly, the body that houses his brave spirit is betraying him.
